How is the light pollution at the campground? I am looking to bring my daughter down for a night during the meteor shower and want to make sure we'll have a good view:)

I've seen darker campgrounds but Big Meadows would be considered moderately dark, I believe. The East Coast is difficult to find darkness compared to the western states.

This is a great spot for this. There is some light pollution on the horizon, but it is pretty mild, especially for the East Coast. I've taken some great astrophotography from Big Meadows.

Trap Pond State Park in DE has fantastic star gazing. They have people from all over come to see the night sky

It is good in general. Do it. But if you go a bit further to GBT you will find best place in the area
