They log animals they find. That's how my husband was able to find my runaway dog. The only bad memory I have retrieving her is that the clerk (with a smurk) told me "hold up! This is kinda like jail. You can't just pick up your pet and go!" It was such an insultive way that she gestured and that grin. I had been emotional losing my pet and then so excited to have found her and she was all about "You gotta pay!"
We already know for sure our cat was "catnapped" by these people. My brothers cat was 1 block away from his house and taken at night, shortly after he was let out to use the bathroom and do whatever it is cats do when you let them out. He isn't aggressive and wouldn't have hurt anyone. And now they're holding him ransom. It's heart breaking right before Christmas. My brothers a grown man and his heart is broken because we may not be able to afford to get him out. *fingers crossed*
Any strays brought in are logged. You can call to ask if a cat fitting your description is there. You can ask if you can visit in person to request a walk through. They will also advise you to watch their adoptable pets online.
You can call them and go in. I would go personally
Call or go daily, I personally would go daily.
There is a book of animals found that are deceased but you can't register your animal that you've lost. They tell you to come in to look or call everyday to see what was brought in. They don't microchip lost pets until they are ready to put them up for adoption, if the original owners are not found.
Chances are the lost pet is registered they put micro chips in them when there rescued.
I'm not sure you will have to call them.
