Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Seattle Animal Shelter! While we do not have in-shelter volunteering opportunities for people under 18 years old, there are still ways to get involved and help the animals at the shelter! • Have a fundraiser, like a bake sale or car wash, and donate the profits to the Help the Animals Fund, which pays for medical care and behavior training for animals at the shelter • Read about the shelter on our website and give a presentation to your class or start a poster campaign at school to raise awareness about animals in need in your city • Ask your family if they are interested in becoming Foster Parents for the shelter; kids under 18 can interact with foster animals in the home and participate in their training and care, and help the animal find a forever home once available for adoption. SAS has all kinds of foster animals, from dogs and cats to hamsters and bearded dragons!
Yes, they do have a volunteer network, but they will tell you what jobs are available.
