The Seattle Animal Shelter accepts all animals from residents of the city of Seattle, regardless of species, breed, age, condition, or behavior. You may surrender your pet during shelter business hours; please visit our website at seattleanimalshelter.org for our hours and location. You do not need an appointment, and there is no fee to surrender, although we always accept donations to offset the cost of caring for the animals. You will need to bring a form of photo ID for yourself, and fill out surrender paperwork here at the shelter. Please provide as much information as you can about your pet; the more information we have from the previous owner, the easier it is to place the pet into a new home. Please also bring any veterinary or vaccination records you have for the pet, or provide us with the name of the veterinary clinic where the pet was seen so we can request records. When you come in to surrender, staff can give you more information about our policies and procedures.

Yes, they will take a surrender of Guinea Pigs. They occasionally have exotic animals for adoption, too. Feel free to call ahead if you have more questions and one of the volunteers can help.
