I feel horrible surrendering my baby America. I had her since 2 weeks old and she is now 3.5 years. However, it is now no longer best/safe for her to live in my home with my other dog. She has had high anxiety and symptoms of aggressive behavior ever since she was a puppy. She deserves someone who can give her an only-pet home and the time and energy to continue the training Seattle Animal Shelter will provide. But, if it wasn’t for Tina, Behavior Specialist at the shelter, I wouldn’t feel that she is in good hands and will receive the support she needs. Thank you Tina and Seattle Animal Shelter for doing what you do!!!! Picture Tina sent me after surrendering America. If you want to be the adoptive parents to my baby, please let the shelter determine if you are a good-fit. She loves anyone who shows her love.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING.. today our rescue jumped out of the car and was found by a kind stranger who IMMEDIATELY brought our chipped puppy here! On arrival she was told by whom ever working the front desk today “we are not going to scan her and you’ll have better luck just releasing her again.” DISGUSTING! Luckily I had called earlier and left a contact, and the sweet angel lady was not going to take that for answer, and finally she was given our contact with attitude out of annoyance, and we’re able to reunite with our baby. I’m hurt, and appalled.

Great experience! The staffs were so nice and super helpful. We called in a couple days earlier to schedule meet and greets with several dogs. We came home with an extra member that day. I can tell it's a great shelter because my dog went around to say goodbye to each staff/volunteer before leaving with us.

Very difficult to communicate with anyone. No one answers the phone. No one returns calls. If you go to the shelter you can't park. All of the visitor spaces are occupied by SAS vehicles. It does seem as though the animals are cared for. I witnessed lots of volunteers taking dogs out for walks.
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
They do! All adoptable rabbits at the Seattle Animal Shelter have been spayed/neutered. If you already have a rabbit that you want to get spayed/neutered, the Spay & Neuter Clinic (which is separate, on the backside of the building) has very reasonable rates.
Sorry I don't work at the shelter, but King County Humane society's are all no kill. Adopting a dog or a cat would be very lovely. These animals are waiting for a forever home and someone who would love and take care of them.
Yes they do! But it would be wise to get there early they open up at 9 and it gets pretty packed!
Not sure but good to ask them in a quick timely manner. Animals get adopted fast.
Yes, the Seattle Animal Shelter takes in puppies. However they tend to go quickly.
Only after the dog has been there for a certain amount of time.
You should contact them directly or view their current listings on their website. This is a community driven platform.
I saw coco on Thursday evening. Thursday was the last I visited. I don't know if anything changed since then. BTW, This is not an appropriate place for such questions. Please call or visit the shelter. The animal care officers will certainly help.
There is a fund at the shelter to provide free or reduced fees for spay and neuter services. Adoption fees are reduced or waived for senior citizen and disabled persons
No I don't have a pair of companions, I only have 1 cat.
Idk possibly they have a yard for them to run around outside
I dont know if they have a baby bunny but you can always call them and check their website at Seattle.gov
Hi Bill! You can see the fees for all of our Spay and Neuter Clinic services here: https://www.seattle.gov/animal-shelter/spay-and-neuter/spaying-and-neutering-fees
I miss my cat.
I would ask to be a volunteer if you really want to work with the animals.
Thank you for your question. For stray drop off of domestic animals, please call our Animal Care team at 206-386-4294 to schedule an appointment. You may need to leave a voicemail, but a team member will return your call.
That is very generous of you! Although we appreciate you thinking of us for this donation we are unable to accept used, material donations at this time as part of our efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
Check with the shelter
Hello and I am sorry to hear of your loss. It is never easy to lose a friend and our hearts go out to yours. I also appreciate you thinking of us for the donation, but unfortunately we have temporarily suspended all material donations as part of our efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19. We recommend contacting your local food bank for donations. Thank you and I hope you take care.
Thank you for thinking of us! Unfortunately we have suspended all donations as part of our response to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. We recommend contacting your local food bank to see if they are accepting any donations.
The Seattle Animal Shelter accepts all animals from residents 18 years and older of the city of Seattle, regardless of species, breed, age, condition, or behavior. You will need to schedule an appointment. Please call us at 206-386-7387, option 3 for Animal Care. There is no fee to surrender, but we always accept donations to help offset the cost of caring for the animals.

If you find an animal you are interested in, please follow the directions on the listing to apply.
Check out Seattle Animal Shelter on 15th Ave in Interbay. They have some cute little dogs. Also, PAWS on 44th Ave in Lynnwood is a good place.
Available animals are listed on the web site. Select a pet you are interested in and addition information about the pet, as well as adoption instructions, will be listed on the page.
Thank you for your interest in adopting! You can see all of our available pets for adoption here: http://www.seattle.gov/animal-shelter/find-an-animal/adopt

The Seattle Animal Shelter does not provide yearly vaccinations and can only currently provide vaccines if a pet is being spayed or neutered at the same time in our Spay and Neuter Clinic. We do have a mobile clinic that we host in our parking lot once a month. Please see their website for more information on times and dates: https://goodneighborvet.com/
They aren't accepting any pets right now due to the virus but you may need to call them to see if they would take her
Thank you for your interest in adopting an animal from the Seattle Animal Shelter! We often have animals available for adoption who have their adoption fee sponsored and paid for by the Seattle Animal Shelter foundation or if they are a senior pet or have a medical condition that may need special attention. You can see all of our fees here: http://www.seattle.gov/animal-shelter/find-an-animal/adopt/adoption-fees-and-applications
Wednesday through Sunday from 1-6. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays. They are open weekends. I adopted my animals on a Saturday.
You can contact our service spay and neuter to the 206-386-4260.
Of course
They lied to my family officer Hallman they would not let us use our pet insurance in order to get our dog Deuce back when he was illegally taken from us. Now it is a nightmare being without my service accommodation dog
Hello! We have a limited number of items for sale at the Seattle Animal Shelter including collars, leashes, and harnesses. We also have an area in our lobby with items donated by the community that are available for people in need.
We paid with credit. I assume debit and cash would be acceptable too.
Hello! We do not offer grooming services, but we do offer spay/neuter services at our Spay & Neuter Clinic. You can find more information here: http://www.seattle.gov/animal-shelter/spay-and-neuter
Not that I am aware of.
The Seattle Animal Shelter accepts all animals from residents of the city of Seattle, regardless of species, breed, age, condition, or behavior. You may surrender your pet during shelter business hours; please visit our website at seattleanimalshelter.org for our hours and location. You do not need an appointment, and there is no fee to surrender, although we always accept donations to offset the cost of caring for the animals. You will need to bring a form of photo ID for yourself, and fill out surrender paperwork here at the shelter. Please provide as much information as you can about your pet; the more information we have from the previous owner, the easier it is to place the pet into a new home. Please also bring any veterinary or vaccination records you have for the pet, or provide us with the name of the veterinary clinic where the pet was seen so we can request records.
What a wonderful and generous idea! We can absolutely take donated home-made toys and monetary donations as well as any food that is not a dry kibble, thank you so much for thinking of us! Some items we can use for the animals here at the shelter, but anything that we can’t use we provide to people in the community who are in need. We would be happy to have you here anytime during our open hours!
Your question has nothing to do with the animal shelter.
Hello! If you would like to receive service at Seattle Humane you will need to contact them directly as they are a separate organization. The Seattle Animal Shelter does provide spay/neuter services and we do offer financial assistance up to full coverage of the procedure through our Pet Population Control Fund. There is no application for this, just mention it when you make your appointment and you can pay what you can. This fund does not cover the cost of vaccines, microchips or the cost of licenses, which are required in the city limits.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Seattle Animal Shelter! We offer a broad range of volunteer opportunities, including assisting in the direct care of animals, fundraising, community outreach and education, and fostering animals in their home. We unfortunately do not offer drop-in dog walking.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Seattle Animal Shelter! All of our volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
Thank you for your message. To submit a lost report and search for your lost animal, you must visit the shelter in person (or send an agent) during business hours. We are unable to take lost reports via phone, email, or the web system.

Hello! Ducks are allowed! Please see this link for more information about urban agriculture in Seattle: http://www.seattle.gov/DPD/Publications/CAM/cam244.pdf
Thats something you would need to talk to them about.
Most info about services is available on website, search Seattle animal shelter
Hello! Animal waste must be removed immediately from public property or property not owned by the pet owner. Additionally, pet waste must be scooped every 24 hours from the pet owner's property. If you observe a pet owner not scooping their pet's waste and have the address or license plate information of the pet owner, you may report the incident using the Service Request Form located here: https://seattle-csrprodcwi.motorolasolutions.com/ServiceRequest.mvc/SRIntakeStep2?id=ASGENIQQ. If you do not have the information about the pet owner, you can pick up a "Scoop It" sign from the Seattle Animal Shelter during business hours or print a "Scoop It" sign yourself. Visit Seattle Public Utilities' Pet Waste pollution page for more information about managing pet waste.
That I'm not sure of. I know they have other programs. Let me know if you find out. I will also see what I can find out and post n update here.
I believe it was around $350 for our fixed adult a few months ago.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Seattle Animal Shelter! While we do not have in-shelter volunteering opportunities for people under 18 years old, there are still ways to get involved and help the animals at the shelter! • Have a fundraiser, like a bake sale or car wash, and donate the profits to the Help the Animals Fund, which pays for medical care and behavior training for animals at the shelter • Read about the shelter on our website and give a presentation to your class or start a poster campaign at school to raise awareness about animals in need in your city • Ask your family if they are interested in becoming Foster Parents for the shelter; kids under 18 can interact with foster animals in the home and participate in their training and care, and help the animal find a forever home once available for adoption. SAS has all kinds of foster animals, from dogs and cats to hamsters and bearded dragons!
yes they can help
If you mean surrendering your cats yes but if you are looking to board cats no.
Please contact the Seattle Animal Shelter
There was a room with birds bunnies and other pets saw a mouse a lizard and more. I would go and check.
You could bring a pet home today as long as you have all the required documentation and information that the Seattle Animal Shelter needs to have a pet go to a forever home some of the items that you would need would be your lease that states you're allowed to have pets a phone number so the shelter can call your apartment complex complex to confirm that you can have pets. a brief interview to make sure that the pet is a good fit and you should be able to take your animal home that night if it all works out smoothly.
Depends if your low income you can get it done free with a paper.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Seattle Animal Shelter. Unfortunately, we do not have a youth program and do require our volunteers to be at least 18 years old. There are other ways you can help our shelter and the community's homeless pets: -Check with other rescue groups in town; some have youth programs or camps. -Make supplies like no-sew blankets to donate to shelter pets. You can find examples online. -Attend an event in the community to support local businesses that support us! -Adopt a pet!
We can absolutely take donated bed linens, as long as they are clean and in good condition! Thank you so much for thinking of us! Some items we can use for the animals here at the shelter, or in our foster homes, but anything that we can’t use we provide to people in the community who are in need.

Cost?
Go to the city website and use the licensing portal to request a replacement tag.
Call them for that answer
Last time I was there they had atleast 4 dogs that meet what you are asking about
There are so many foster parents to furry tail pers in Seattle area. Simply join a pet related Facebook group to find a foster family. What bread is your dog? How old is he/she? Is your dog neutered/spayed? Micro-chipped?
Hi Kevin! For your convenience, our online adoption listings at seattleanimalshelter.org are updated live! If an animal disappears from the website, they are no longer available. If they are still available on the website then please follow the instructions to apply for the adoption.
I am sure they do
Everett
Yes
Payment to the Humane Society is really not paying for a pet. It is funding to support health care, vaccines, transportation, housing and administrative costs. Even with all of that the total was less than half of what most Rescue organizations charge.
How nice Ellen..Please call the shelter.
They do if the animal is beyond medical help or too aggressive for the public and not able to be rehabilitated.
Take your cat to the vet and see what's going on Also is your cat a girl or a boy if it's a girl and is not fixed she may be in heat my best advice is to go to the vet they'll be able to let you know everything that is going on with your cat
This information is available on their website.
You would have to call them or go to their location to find out for sure.
Not sure if open now..Last time that I was there they had beautiful(as they all are) cats.
You can call the shelter during open hours to ask an employee what animals are currently available. You can also visit the website for online links to the available animals list which includes photos and descriptions of each animal.
Roslyn..You might want to call or visit the shelter..There are different dogs all the time..
Found animals are held for 10 days before they start being shown for adoption. I recommend calling and giving a description of the animal, they may also be able to give you an email to send a photo and information to.
