As for the ER taking a long time since it's a high-volume ER they have to prioritize. if you waited hours your situation probably wasn't life threatening, therefore they took care of the cases that were life-threatening and then took care of the lower priority cases in the order in which they received.
I understand. I noticed this is the case in the Puget Sound area, since moving to the area over 20 years ago. It is quite shocking, but if more people know about it, the more they can make better decisions about where to get health help.
