Always better to have some small tools with you. Bring bug spray and sun tan lotion. If possible go after a good rain, scanning the surface move around alot. Stick to the sides. You will find plenty with or with out tools. Good luck hunting!!
No tools needed. You can fill 2-3 ziplocs just from the surface. The fossils are small & don't require tools, other than your hands. Wear kneepads & fingerless gloves, so you can crawl around.
Theres quite a bit of fossils that you can find just laying around the very top of the dirt. Easily picked out by hand. But I'd still suggest bringing some sort of tools
