There is a very well kept parking lot & covered rest area. The entrance is a walkway with handrail, just go on down, for free, & start scooping up all the fun fossils!! It gets extremely hot down in there (shaped like a big bowl), so take water, snacks, sunscreen, etc. Have fun!!!

It's free. There is no gate and no personnel on duty. Take water, and sunscreen. The only shade is at the entrance, there is none in the pit.
