I was so glad to finally get to go here. I think it is a great place for hiking and finding little gems. Lots of treasure to be found. Just make sure you follow the rules. And make sure you pick up your trash. It was nice to see only a little bit of trash was there. And I will bring a bag with me next time, just so I can pick up the little bit I see.

LOVE this place! Always find everything on the sign and this time two Trilobites. It was so totally super exciting! Best time to go is late Fall, and late Winter to early Spring. We never go to the pit area to the left of the walkway. Always go to the far right. Everything is spread across the surface. You don't have to dig. Look carefully because the Trilobites are super tiny, easy to miss, and rare. Bring knee pads. Hands and knees are the best way to find the best fossils.

Very cool place in the middle of nowhere. Fossils are very abundant. Parking is close to the park which is a short walk down a hill.

Tiny fossils everywhere! No digging needed..there are plenty just laying on the surface. It’s all one large pit…great for the kiddos to run and play. Nice covered picnic area. Two porta-potties. It costs nothing!

Yes you can, the park is just unavailable for commercial use
Hello I would say it's about a 1/2 mile
The rules of the park are that it is for personal use only. The fossils generally are tiny. The fun is in the hunt.
Take small garden tools to dig into the earth and something to carry your treasures. It's basically a large pit.

Always better to have some small tools with you. Bring bug spray and sun tan lotion. If possible go after a good rain, scanning the surface move around alot. Stick to the sides. You will find plenty with or with out tools. Good luck hunting!!
This place isn't about stones. It's about fossils. They are tiny and usually discovered as a portion of small undersea creatures, but they're literally everywhere in the park and lying on the surface. It's really incredible to walk through an area covering a couple acres and see 300 million year old fossils lying on the surface with every step.
They don't want you to bring large tools or shovels. Everything is really soft so you can just use gardening tools and some buckets for fossils.
