You can tent camp in an RV spot, but you cannot RV camp in a tent spot. In the winter all the sites become first come first serve. I am not sure when they restart the online reservation process each year, usually around April/May when the weather warms up a bit and families start using their vacation days. FYI You may need to pay cash if the online reservations are not yet available.
The lake is open and only about 10% is frozen. You can call the office at the lake for information about camping. There are only 2 RV spots if I remember correctly. Office number is (575)829-3630
