There is a visitor center/museum and a few hiking trails you can park. Prairie dog town is a favorite.

Yes, you can drive through. The visitor's center is worth the stop. The trails, if you should choose to walk any of it, are great and allow you to see a lot more of the landscape.

You can... A road transits the entire park east to west... Much accesible only by trails. We saw plenty bison & longhorns just driving through.

Yes...nice drive, with several spots to pull off and view. Keep in mind that bison, elk, longhorn etc...always have the right of way. 😉
