Both the ferry ride and access for day use of the park are free of charge. They always appreciate donations, though, if you can spare it. :)
It is free (donations encouraged) but they limit 6 passengers per trip. So if you have a party of more than six (or if there are others waiting to ride) you may have to split up or wait your turn.
