Volunteered here for a short time and this place is nothing other than a guise for animal hoarding. It is disgusting, rank and filth coat every single surface imaginable and the smell is strong enough to make you gag from the driveway. The people are nice and i understand the cause but this is not the way to go about it. Tons and tons of animals jam packed into every possible space. There is no way to properly care for this many animals in this kind of environment. There is no way this healthy for the volunteers and animals to be there every single day breathing in that air.

I LOVE Florence. She started Journeys End 40 years ago and it is clear that she has, and continues to pour her heart into it. She loves taking care of God's little innocents. She is a joy to converse with, quick witted and exuberant.

Very odd indeed.. somthings amiss over there. Hearts in right place but woman who is owner is very elderly and blind. It seems a very few select younger "care takers" guard her and chooses who and when she has visitors. Her and I agreed to meet one morning by phone, but when I got there I was turned away by a animal "caretaker", saying she didn't want visitors..interesting..

Very good place for animals where they can live out the rest of their lives with their disabilities they will be very well taken care of

Dawn how long ago did you work there? I worked there As Well (about a month) and someone actually reported them to animal control due to the cat house being so dirty. As far as I know the charges were dropped & they're currently in the process of redoing the cat house. I ended up quitting (due to rudeness of the owner) and not allowed back due to supposedly having a "bad attitude". They have a high staff turn over rate. All the girls that were there for over a year ended up quitting due to the owner & they currently have a fresh staff, well see how long the new staff lasts.
They are a "rescue". They do not adopt out
Don't know. Call them
You need to call & speak to Florence because I'm sure she would want to meet & greet first before making that decision. However, I do know Girl & Boy Scouts have volunteered to help with the care of the animals.
Yes
Journeys end doesnt take animals from homes only homeless and handicapped quali fy to go there. You may ask vet offices and friends
Idk, she takes in disabled animals.
