Looks shady but nothing happened the two times I was out walking the area alone. Day light hours! )
Last weekend we stayed in this hotel while touring the Boston area. I felt perfectly safe inside the hotel, and even in the smokers area outside. However i would not suggest going on foot in the other side. If you are Uber/Lyft to and from the hotel, you should be great. Perhaps avoid walking to the T, and especially at night.
We stayed here for a week on vacation in June 2018. We were warned by our Lyft driver (when we were dropped off at the hotel) to be careful as it's in a rough neighborhood. However, we frequently saw security guards around the hotel and police officers. We took the city bus one day from right near the hotel and that was fine. Then we found out about the awesome free shuttle the hotel offers and used that every other time we needed to get closer to our destination. I would be comfortable returning to this hotel again to stay and be s tourist in Boston. We did not go out into the neighborhood at night.
