How far away can I see the lighthouse?

Its not very tall, when we visited we didnt see it until we were in the parking lot because it is surrounded by trees.

What exactly do you mean? From the lake? You can walk right up to it and go inside it.

Not that tall, but very interesting to go in and go to the top. Can see cedar point from the light house.

The best view is in the water and I plan to go back

If you're going to the lighthouse by Lillian you cannot see it until you enter the park however if you are trying to see the White House from the water you can see it from Cedar Point and even further
