Yes you can bring a wagon, and though the walk between parking and digging wasn't that long I would recomend using one. Bring your tools, a screwdriver, garden trowel, 3 prong hand cultivator are the minimum I'd recommend along with a bucket or two. Also helpful is a pry bar, medium sized. You should also dress for the weather and bring plenty of water and I would suggest some snacks. A source of shade may be nice as well.

When we were there the dig sight was on the side of the hill. You can park close so buckets would be more useful than a wagon. Picks, shovels & hand tools work best such as spades hand rakes & screwdrivers.
