You don't expect to find something this grand in the middle of Louisiana, but here it is. What a beautiful place. Some parts of the hiking trails can be very strenuous but overall a nice hike with beautiful scenery. Gorgeous waterfalls that are breathtaking and lots of nature to observe. Wear comfortable clothes, good walking shoes and plenty of water

Great hike. Two trails one for novice and another for advance hikers.

My husband and I decided to bring our doggo! We all had such a great time, can’t wait to come back! Make sure if you come to pack some protein and plenty of water! To get to parts of the waterfalls, there are some steep steep stairs so you have to be careful. My dog handled it like a pro and I was the slow-poke. Definitely recommend here! It’s so beautiful and I liked it more than tunica!

This is one of my favorite places to hike that is the closest to my area. I'm from Opelousas LA & it's only two hours away. There are primitive trails to hike through the woods but my favorite is following the creek to get to the waterfalls quicker! Be sure to bring tennis shoes that can get wet, as the hike along the creek has lots of boulder climbing & of course, water. Wear clothes that can also get wet, I usually wear my swimsuit underneath some hiking shorts! We like to bring a first aid kit also, as there is no cell reception once you're out there so if something happens you'll need to be prepared! I also like to bring a towel on the hike too for drying off as needed. I also leave a few towels in the car to dry off once I get back from the hike, as well as a dry change of clothes. There's some bathrooms to change in!

Questions & Answers

Is the park closed? Why is it closed? When will it reopen?

Not closed, probably a local who got tired of seeing tourists

Is the park closed? I see it says it isn’t and then I see it says it is?

Yes. Fenced off with a sign. It is obvious that people are still using the trail despite being closed but you would be doing so at your own risk
