We visited the park in early Oct 2018, and everything was open. There were large areas where there were burnt black trees and we could still smell the smoke in the air, but the fires were out. But even so, it was BEAUTIFUL and wonderful to experience in person! Worth seeing in person. Depending on what happens over the winter/spring (snowfall-hopefully) and rainfall (hopefully- so there are no new fires...) the park will be open. Have a wonderful trip!
