Has the park service all of the sudden decided to enforce the 8am rule for runners/walkers on the mountain? In over 40 years I have seen exactly two rangers on the trail, but I was informed yesterday that I was in violation. Bob Clements

Honestly I don't know. Ask at visitors center by fountain, beginning of Bathhouse Row; they should be able to answer your question better.

I would be ard to really get a solid answer during the shutdown. I worked I Yellowstone many year ago. We had hour of operation as well in certain areas. Did you ask the ranger in question?
