It is a beautiful Park and has the potential to be a great place to take your family and pets. There is still quite a bit of drugs, thugs, vandalism and trash throughout the park. Found this week broken glass, syringes and way too much trash. Sad that people don't have more respect. Just be vigilant. I refuse to let them run me off.
Police have been under cover in the park for a few months to get the bad element out of the park. It seems to be working. Very family friendly. The cyclist group has done a lot of work too
My husband and I go there nearly every day. We've seen families picnicking, birthday parties, group outings, kids just enjoying the rocks, Boy Scout troops, people fishing, people doing photoshoots, and trail bike events. Never noticed anything amiss. There is considerable erosion in some places but mowers come out and they do limb and debris pick up. There are also trash receptacles that get emptied regularly.
We were there February 2018. Most of the park was ok. Family's picnicking, mountain bikes on the trails, fisherman at the lake. There was one area that was kind of run down looking though. Bathroom had graffiti and in horrible shape, street light busted out, grass not mowed, broken glass all over the ground. That was only one area though. The rest seemed ok. Seems like the mountain bike traffic is slowly detouring the non-legit park users.
Actually it has improved a lot over the years. I think it's a great place to visit with family and friends they have bike trail outings on some weekends, beautiful pic nic areas and clean bathrooms. Books for children to read and exchange.
I've been about 6 or 7 times since January & I haven't had any issues with drug abusers or anything negative in general.
I went and thought it was cool, chill and if druggies were there i didn't see em.
