Yes there are tours during summer. Yes you can go inside.
Although I arrived just as they were closing, I roamed the grounds. It was still VERY interesting. The shoreline behind The Buildings is made of shells..and I was recording as darkness came..I had read that Captain Joseph likes to turn off the parking lot light, which can only be done from inside. I bee lined it for the parking lot, asking, begging for him not to turn it off but at the same time hoping he would..I crossed the grass..I crossed the gravel drive..I made it to the lot and was fumbling with my keys then BAM! the light turned off!! I was elated but scared, smiling but whispering to myself thankyou Captain, but can you now turn it back on? I couldn't see to put my key in the car door and feeling every pocket trying to remember which pocket I'd put my phone in, to use the light..Now pleading..Please turn the light back on, please ..I thought I'd heard footfalls on gravel..now thinking..oh great! A homeless person. Fumbling with my phone, keys, the Light came back on..
From what I understand through their website yes they have tours and you can go inside
