Tent it, why yes. A rustic site is usually the norm, but your choice I guess. And the booze ban was lifted the Sunday we left, seems to be they regulate around the high schoolers.

Dont know of any restrictions that say you can't put a tent on any site in any MI state park I have been. Because of their militant no alcohol policy, keep the windows closed.
You can put a tent on every campsite in a mi state dnr campground. Rules are up to one rv and one tent or two tents. All campsites are tent friendly.
