Section 3 shows many of the sites are unavailable through the summer, yet when I looked a few weeks ago they were able to be reserved. Is there an issue with this area?

Alot of sites along the shore don't have power. They inspected them a few years ago and still have not did upgrades yet. I know the state parks have changed their reservation and cancellation policies. You will need to go on michigan.gov DNR to check out their new policies. We have been camping there for 30 years and love it specially Section 3.

I also disagree with Tammy. It is a gorgeous state park! Yes, it COULD be windy there because it is right across the street from Lake Superior, but a lot of the campsites are in the trees. I don't know about any problem reserving them.

I disagree with Tammy. I thought it was a decent campground. It is fairly basic, but it has all the necessary facilities. Including firewood, modern bathrooms, and good showers.

They are upgrading. This was a terrible campground. Super windy and they never tell you about that and were unwilling to accommodate us when our tent ripped apart from the wind. Lovely campground in Newberry

Working on electric

They have been upgrading the electrical service throughout the park. Certain areas were unavailable for reservations as they preform the upgrades. While some sites were unavailable for reservations, they were, however available for drive in use without service.

You can reserve 6months in advance now,i heard there has been some computer clithes

Not that I know. Just maybe reservation periods for the time just opened up. Park is closed now.
