Yes , Very much so. I have taken my grandchildren there for years and some since before the were 3. All the folks there that I have uncountered have been great . It is a family oriented community.

The spoil piles are in a park type setting with the museum directly across from the park. There are bathrooms in the museum and the learning center on the opposite corner of the museum. So yes. Taking children is definitely safe and fun.
