Dogs are allowed at campsites if attended at all times. Dogs are not allowed in beach , picnic and other areas though. You can try calling Covert township park which is not far from there.

Dogs are permitted in the campground and picnic areas and in one particular spot of beach. 6' leash, pick up the poo etc.

People bring dogs. They usually head toward the southern area. From dnr website... If you bring a pet please be aware that pets are not allowed on the beach within the state park boundaries. Your pet must be on a leash not exceeding six feet and clean-up is required. Pets may not be left unattended at any time and are not allowed in any park buildings
