The visitor center at Fort Kearny state historical park serves as a crane information center. The cranes have to be viewed near the river. Fort Kearny state recreation area has a footbridge to view them.
entrance is free if remember correctly
Not sure about next summer, but the visitor center was open daily 9am-5pm from memorial day to labor day last year.
State Park entry is $6 per day or $31 for the year. Visitor center is $2 to get in.
You cannot camp at the State Historical Park, but you can at the Fort Kearney State Recreation Area that is a couple of miles away. Camping there facilitates RVs.
