We've been several times and it's amazing and a thrilling ride up and down. Be sure to do the "stand up" half way up. And go outside on the deck and see the world and the presidential range. There is food, a gift shop and nice people from all over the place. It's a great experience. Check weather and temperature before you go. In spring and fall, yes a coat. And in summer, a sweater. You're on top of the world. It's great.
I went in the summer and was wearing a tank top and shorts on the bottom and was had a long sleeve shirt for the top and was so cold I had to buy a sweatshirt. As did my husband who only had on a t shirt. And he is never cold.
Mid summer a long sleeve on top of the mtn.
