Ordered off the menu since we weren’t hungry enough for the buffet. I just got the potato soup which honestly was pretty mediocre. My husband got the special that day of beef and noodles and literally had only a couple slivers of beef. Really disappointing. We will be back in town soon and will give them another try, but will get the buffet and chicken this time. Hopefully that will be a lot better! Well we revisited the Blue Gate and would like to update my review. This time we got the buffet and it was so much better then last time when we ordered off the menu! The chicken was top notch & all the sides we tried were delicious. The beef & noodles on buffet was very generous with the beef, unlike last time when ordered off the menus. Even the potato soup was improved upon! Great selection of salad items also. Nice surprise that pie and soft serve ice cream are included with the buffet, and pies were delicious!

The restaurant is part of the Blue Gate complex. There is a bakery, gift shops and theater in the same building. Actually the restaurant has two parts. One is for ordering off the menu and the other is for the buffet. We went to the buffet. The food tasted excellent and looked nice and fresh. The staff were diligent about keeping things cleaned up. The only warning I would give people is if you're sensitive to MSG be very cautious. I am very sensitive to it and had a very unpleasant and quick reaction to eating there. My husband was fine. On another note, the staff is very thoughtful and helpful. I left my sweater there and did not realize it until we got back to camp. I called asking about it. They went and found it, placed it at the cash register and I picked it up that same night. So nice not to have to shop for a new one. Thanks again.

Paid for the buffet dinner with our concert tickets and we still had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. It was very organized but I wish we could have had a better window for dinner like half hour incirments or something like that. The buffet had soups, salad, 3 main meats (braised beef, fried chicken, and meatloaf) and an entire table of desserts. The buffet included soda or water and the breading on the fried chicken was outstanding, so tender and delicious. They had apple butter and peanut butter spread for you to try on bread and they sell these both in the bakery. The best fried chicken I've had so far. While we waited, we shopped around inside and visited the Bakery. Lots of sweets and random things for sale.

We had a great meal there on Monday, returning to Sturgis to sleep and drove back to Blue Gate for lunch the next day. Perfect food for our three hour drive back to Indy. The food is so good and the staff is nice and attentive. Can’t wait to return.

Yes, there is a buffet downstairs $14.99 for lunch and $15.99 for dinner. It offers everything that is on the menu except for soups, sandwiches, and daily specials. It closes at 7pm.
Hi Dianne, we have two event venues and a restaurant. We have our Music Hall which is attached to our restaurant as well as our Performing Arts center down the street. All shows from both venues have the option of adding a dinner package.
The Seafood Buffet is a special event we do sporadically depending on the market price of certain fresh items. Right now we don't have any dates scheduled but sign up for e-mail newsletters and watch our Facebook page for announcements and updates!
We do not have menu dining for breakfast at this time. We do have breakfast buffet on Saturday mornings.
They have masks provided by the buffet, which also they provide disposable gloves.. wish more places would instill this and open back up. As for reservations, I would assume it depends on the day and if a show at their performing arts theater... call ahead to ensure
I'm pretty sure there is and it's like $10
No crab legs. It is an Amish dinner restaurant. Chicken, noodles, stuffing, etc.
I ate at the buffet last week. I think if I had it to do over I'd eat upstairs and order off the menu

Buffering the amount of guests entering the building, requiring gloves and masks, promoting social distancing. The place is also incredibly clean. They have the cleanest restrooms I have ever seen in a restaurant.

Yes. But remember things constantly change so you may just want to call and ask them directly what the current status is
I dont know about breakfast, we only ate dinner. To start there is a nice, fresh , salad bar. With lots of variety, rolls and soup. My DJ ate the potato soup and like it a lot. The hot bar consisted of mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green beans, a vegetable casserole, chicken and noodles, pot roast, fried chicken, cherry cobbler and maybe another vegetable. To finish there were at least 12 kinds of pie and or soft serve ice cream
You could choose the buffet. There is a nice salad bar. The hot bar usually has pot roast, green beans, mashed potaoes. Soft serve ice cream for dessert.
