East Side Bake Shop is walking distance across the street from the park. Additionally, there is a Gas Station/Cafe/General Store (Crowley Lake) 3 miles away that you could ride a bike to. They have pizza/sandwiches/burritos, etc. That is the extent of things that are close here for food. The town of Mammoth Lakes is 11 miles away, so I would suggest a vehicle to get there. Eastern Sierra Transit will pick you up at the exit here to take you to town, but requires 24 hour notice. Please call us at (760) 935-4233 if you have additional questions.
I recommend taking your RV for comfort and experience and simply renting a small car from the airport (you can reserve online). There's so much to explore! :)
I would bring a vehicle, mammoth is the closest with restaurants and stores, it takes about 15 minutes from camp, in a vehicle that is. Enjoy your time there, we can't wait to come up next month!
There is a sweet little cafe within walking distance, excellent food, closed and on Tuesday & Wednesday, but not much else. If you want to go into Mammoth, which I recommend, it is driving distance. If you bring bikes and don't necessarily mountain bike, there is a free tram that takes you to the top of horseshoe lake and you can ride downhill on a paved surface, about 5 miles. Tons of places to eat in Mammoth too.
