Do I need a reservation? Been calling for an hour, call won't go through. I just need to stay one night tomorrow.

Not really. Trout opener, mule days & when the rodeo comes 2 town u better, but normally u do not. Remember the valley gets hot during the summer months. If u don't have air it can/will get uncomfortable. Clean showers & toilets. Nice store @ entrance. Home made pies & giant scoops of ice cream 4 sale. Adult beverages too. My home away from home 4 trout openers.

No reservations needed may get busy the more North you go do to, Motocross in Mammoth.

If you're only going to stay for one night it shouldn't be a problem as a walk in. I've done that several times. also another place you can check out is Tom's place. 20mins North on 395. Primitive camping with vaulted restrooms right next to the River.

They said it was full for today but when I passed there was like nobody there! I'm currently camped in Olancha. Oh well their loss.
