I was wanting to make reservations for August 31 with trailer, I've been reading that I may not need a reservation depending on time of year. I also was curious about the fire season and if it was safe time to go camping up there?

No issue with fires here, east of the SN and well away from the high risk areas. I reserved there in June. You need to ring them though as you cant book through the website. I found the site to be excellent, good facilities, showers,laundry and shop although the frogs in the lake.........noisy little buggers 😂

This place claims to not take reservations, however we've seen them reserve spaces for people regularly. This place is only good for necessity, otherwise find somewhere else. Anywhere else.
