When they changed trains ( steam to electric) on us, they emailed us the day before and told us the options. Reschedule or refund. We were on our way so we just took the train they had. A mud slide or anything could cause a closer, but they seemed to be good about contacting us. Double check your email folders.
They also emailed us to let us know the day before that they were having issues with the steam and that we would be riding the electric one but said they would reschedule or refund if it was something we didn't want to do. I feel like it was on short notice for them and very unexpected. I think they did an amazing job at notifying and giving us an option just as Michael Breeden said..
I rode it on June 15th. No issues that I experienced. Definitely wasn't COVID related. Was most likely mechanical for your excursion.
I rode the train Friday, June 19... It seemed to be full, and there were quite a few cars. Could easily be a mechanical issue with a car that could not be included on the train. I can tell you that the one I was on was struggling with the air conditioning.
Not a good way to run a business, hope you found something else fun to do.
Don't think it is a Covid issue, as my hubby and I went on 6/2. Hope you find your answer!
Not COVID, I was just on the tour last week Friday. Could be a mechanical issue with the train. Call them and ask.
