Salt Point is a State park with a couple of car camping camp grounds. Gerstle cove is popular with abalone divers. It is small. Woodside is bigger, good sites. Everything is crowded in summer.
There are over 60 camp sites. Contact California State Parks for reservations.
All California state parks have a website that will redirect you to www.reservecalifornia.com You gotta input the campsite name and select a date Example: https://www.reservecalifornia.com/CaliforniaWebHome/Facilities/SearchViewUnitAvailabity.aspx
Within Salt Point State Park there are two campgrounds, Woodside and Gerstle Cove, there are over 130 sites between the two locations. You can just show up and pay for a site, either pay with park staff or if no one is there, self pay, although I recommend getting a reservation beforehand, especially during the spring and summer months. To get a reservation go to the Reserve California website or call them at 800 444 PARKS
You cannot camp in the park itself, but nearby there are camping locations. Just Google camping near salt point.
Depends on your gear.
there is no camping i believe at the park but just a couple miles north or south there is plenty
