Not good for dogs
I have to agree with an earlier contributor that soco falls is not a great place to take a dog. You can certainly get out and look around and maybe make it down to the first level but not a great place for that. Way too close to the road too.
although soco falls has easy public Access and a parking area just off the road, It's not a great place to walk dogs. The upper portion of the trail is paved, narrow, steep, and uneven at points; often times it is so crowded it can be difficult to navigate on foot and nearly impossible with a dog I would imagine.... While less crowded, the lower portion of the trail leading down to the Riverside at the base of the falls may require one to literally climb down a couple of spots using hands and feet so again this may become very difficult with a dog. The horse pasture River Trail near Sapphire Valley in lake toxaway or deep Creek in Bryson City would be good places to see waterfalls with dogs along for the trip. DuPont Forest near Hendersonville is also a wonderful place to take your pets and see beautiful waterfalls.
There are ropes to hold onto on your way to the bottom of falls. Dog's should be fine
No not really it's a very steep climb down to the falls and you have to use ropes to get there
