The dredge was in town so they had to close then they had parts for maintenance that made a delay in reopening, check their facebook page for any info it's usually updated Hope this helped and I hope I'm correct

yes we drove over an hour to get there only to see a small sign saying 20 miles away ferry closed. we still drove there just in case and you could tell there had been no activity at all. an yes we did wait and walk around a little looking at the tugboats none of which was coming to and fro across the river all was going the way of the river
