We love taking visitors on this free river crossing...thanks to the NC Dept of Transportation! Restroom and snacks available in the air conditioned lounge area, but I much prefer facing the elements outside on the deck, or the wonderful upper observation platform. The crew is great, answering questions about the ship, courteous service and ALWAYS taking our safety seriously, so please people, respect their positions and what they do. The Bayview Ferry is about a 20 - 30 min trip across the Pamlico, and everytime is a new adventure, no matter the time of year, or time of day.

If you time it right this is the best way to travel! Absolutely free and a nice break from driving by traveling by boat for a portion of the trip.

I've only been on this ferry one other time (from the south side). It's a very nice, short trip across the river to Aurora. The ferry was on time and clean. Loading and unloading was a breeze.
