This is such a great way to cross the Neuse without building a bridge. It's a pleasant experience free courtesy of NC and as long as you're expectations are not too high a good way to enjoy the day traveling.

This ferry is great for getting you across the river quickly and efficiently. It only took about 15 minutes to cross the river once everyone was loaded on. It's also free, so it's worth taking the little detour to try out!

Excellent ferry service for a nice tranquil boat ride. We have never experienced a bad trip for any of the N.C. ferry routes. It's always a pleasure especially for children to enjoy.

You can look up the ferry schedules online. It usually runs all day every 30 minutes with lunch from 12 to 1 and after 4 they run every hour.
Also it's free and the ride is about 20 min or so. They used to have 2 boats goin back and forth but due to covid it's just the 1 ferry.

Probably not operating today due to evacuation order and flooding and from rising river level; also the road to there was [at least partially] closed previously. Ferry will probably not operate until after the evac/"stay away" order is lifted.
