This is a great way to get to Kure Beach from Southport. It is very inexpensive and has great views during tge 30 minute ride.

Reliable, on time, and straightforward. It was only $7 for a car to cross from Southport to Ft. Fisher. Not bad for the amount of time and effort you saved! The interior cabin has A/C and decent seating, which is convenient when it's hot out!

No. You have to show up and get in line. We got there about 30 mins early in early August and were the first car in line in the morning.
I'm not aware of any discounts. We have a handicap mirror hanger; not offered at time of ticket purchase.

Yes you can ridw to southport and back but the be a wait for next boat back to fort Fisher
The ferry at the end of Ferry Rd goes across and a ways up the Cape Fear River to Fort Fisher. Get off the ferry there, turn left at the end of the terminal property and drive though the communities of Ft Fisher and Kure Beach to reach Carolina Beach.
The ferry system operates on a reduced schedule on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
