Is there a motel close?

It kind of depends on what you consider to be close. The town of Chester is only about an hour away from the park, and does have lodging.

To what entrance?

There are public cabins at some places but they are first come first serve

I didn't notice any, but great camp grounds. Great rate too. Redding is the closest large city, but it's about an hour away. So worth the drive.

I stayed at motel6 Redding. Pretty decent would say!!!
