Skyline Drive is a bucket list experience. My friends and I drove our motorcycles from the Front Royal entrance to right past big meadows. The views are stunning and trails are numerous. The seven day pass is inexpensive compared to what you get to see and do. If you have the opportunity, definitely make it a point to drive skyline drive!

One of the best National parks you can drive through in any season. This time I drive through skyline drive stretch from north to south. Below are highlights 1. You have to pay admission to enter but if you have annual pass (I had America the Beautiful pass) then it’s free entry 2. Visitor center has abundant source of souvenirs but it’s small Ask staff for any details like viewpoints etc that are always happy to help 3. Stop wherever you want and watch the overlooks 4. Weather sometime acts weird . I travelled on March 26 2022 but it snowed for some minutes 5. It will take total 3-4 hours with stopping 6. Carry water and food 7. You can see deers gazing beside road

It was my first visit outside my country to USA. I was fortunate enough to visit this place in 2017 Autumn. Absolutely stunning landscapes and breathtaking sceneries as you drive along the Skyline drive through the National Park. I think its beautiful beyond words at any time of the dau during any season of the year.

Beautiful drive by n the skyline! As of 11/9/21 there was still a lot of color left on the trees! It was clear the day I drove through with my wife, no fog or low lying clouds, perfectly clear. The temperature wasn’t bad either, it was in the mid 60’s. Do yourself a favor a take a scenic drive through this park, you won’t regret it, I promise! P.S. Just watch out the HORDE of Ladybugs! They’re everywhere!

Hi, yes they do. But you may want to take that money and invest it into a pass called the America the beautiful pass. It will cost you $30 hours to get into the skyline but the America the Beautiful pass is$80 for a full year. Two names can even go on the pass so you can split the cost with a friend. The pass will get you into any national park and any national site for free. It will also get at least three adults in and one child with you. You can buy the pass online or at any of the big national parks or sites. but my advice is to call first to see if they have them available. It is well worth the money. I hope I was helpful to you. Enjoy your venture the skyline is awesome. If time allows do a little research and you might want to spend a couple of days there.
The enteance never closes unless there is inclement weather https://www.nps.gov/shen/planyourvisit/hours.htm
No
$15 at most sites. $20 at Big Meadows. https://www.nps.gov/shen/planyourvisit/campgrounds.htm
The current fee is $30 per vehicle and is good for 7 days. Dogs are allowed but if you plan to take your dog out of your car, it must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet at all times; and they are allowed, if leashed, on most trails. They are also allowed in campgrounds (leashed) and there is pet-friendly lodging available.
You can buy an annual pass for $55 for unlimited entrance regardless of how many people you have in your car. You can also buy the $30 vehicle pass for a week. Individual fee for entrance is $15, for one person for a single day.
Skyline drive is a National Park. Entry without a pass is $30 for 7 days. A bargain! https://www.nps.gov/shen/planyourvisit/fees.htm
Yes
The closest entrance took us 2hr50min to get to DC. The farther entrance ant the blue ridge split is another 2hrs south
Skyland and Big Meadows lodge are the two lodges in the park. Big Meadows Lodge is only open March to October. Skyland is open longer. Also, there are 4 campgrounds spread throughout the park. All offer bathrooms. Lewis mountain campground also has a small number of cabins.
Not quite
Cost is just the admission fee (presently $30 per carload or $15 per person single driver) and is good for 1 week reentry if you want to drop down for a meal into one of the towns. Straight through will be 4 to 4.5 hours because most of the Drive is 35 mph. If you get stuck behind slow cars or stop at the overlooks plan for an all-day, 8 hour trip. They have quite a few picnic grounds with BBQ pits and tables to prepare your own meal if you like. I recommend bringing a tabletop gas grill if you have it as their pits are taken quickly. It's a beautiful drive and expect unbearable traffic during this time of year (early to mid October) because of leaves changing color. During the week is your best shot to avoid the traffic.
can you rephrase your question Mr. Mohamed?

Jus a couple of hours
