There is a reasonably extensive playground (including two play structures with slides, swings, baby swings, a merry-go-round, a large sand play area and a few other odds and ends) next to the historic community center and pool, on the northeast part of the lake. There is also a wading pool open in the summer (check for times) almost directly north of the lake. The playground is nothing extraordinary but it is reasonably spacious and popular in most weather during the whole week. Parking adjacent to the playground (shared with the community center) is often very difficult to find, so be aware that you may have to park in the neighborhood blocks away even off peak times.
