Make sure you make reservations there is only 20 some spots here.
Less people in the spring and fall, but more chance of rain. If you are new to camping, go for early summer but expect crowds. That is when you will most likely be comfortable with the weather, and the lake is nice to swim in. Bring and wear bug spray and sun screen (no matter where you go camping). Nothing is worse than trying to sleep itchy and sunburned.
It's always a good time to camp!
We were there in late August and there were plenty of places to camp and the water was great
In the fall when there aren't so many people running around.
