Can I park at the visitor's center to go fishing at Sterling Lake (any parking fees)? Also is there a trail that you can take or can I just walk along the shore line to fish? What is the earliest time you can park there to go fishing?

There is no parking fee. You can take the blue trail, which starts in the left of the visitors center. For fishing, please check with visitors center. I saw many folks fishing, bug I am not aware of restrictions of any. Have fun!

You are allowed to fish from shore with a valid NYS fishing license. There is a restriction - no baitfish allowed. You can use lures or worms. Fishing spots are behind the Visitor Center, down by South Point trail, or toward the northern end of the lake. Enjoy!
