Does this campground ever get completely booked or are there usually tent sites?

This campground is popular and can be full near the weekend. Hikers come off of the Appellation Trail in evening and can take any sites that may be leftover. This campground is not suitable for larger RVs . Sites are smaller. Make reservations at Big Meadows campground a few months in advance if you have a larger camper.

There are usually a couple sites left.

The camp host said that during the peak season, sites fill up very quickly. But it is first come, first served.
