I joined Local 49 in the Fall of 1976, when it was located in the old Labor Temple on the south end of downtown Portland, My job changed, the Local changed, but there was always a person in the hall willing to stand up for me, and I always had a contract and benefits. As a retired member I have a Union pension and I will always support this place that helps make a worker's life practically possible.

Before getting a job that was part of SEIU Local 49 I had no clue what being part of a union was about. I have been part of Local 49 now for almost 4 years and couldn't be happier with their staff and accountability. I have heard some horror stories about unions... But after being a part of this one I never want to go back to being a non union worker again!

Casey is rude to our workers whom she should be fighting for, she makes poor decisions without a vote from the people and we are worse off then when we started. Everyone in our company is quoting the union because of Casey. She is NOT a help she is a hindrance!😡

this place is a joke . what's the purpose of having a union or union rep if this guy never responds to text or answer phone calls and it's making me angry that I'm forced into even have to pay a damn union rep anything it's a scam they are probably colluding with relay resource to silence any law suits who knows but I'm saving up a few measly paychecks and I'm out !
