If you enjoy rats, roaches, and having your security deposit being kept under false pretenses, this is the place for you.

I'm giving this a 3 star, but it is probably more like 2.5. I have lived here for 3 years and have consistently been looking to move for about a year or two now. The reason I haven't moved because of attachments to some of my networks in the area and cost. This place has its' pros and cons like anything. Pros: the courtyard area is really cute and it is pet friendly. The courtyard is nice because anyone can use it and it is pretty big. A pro for me is that my actual studio apartment is owned by my own landlord, separate from the condominium, so I cannot speak for them, but for me it is a month to month lease-which is nice. It is also in a half-decent location. The decent aspect is that it is close to pretty much anywhere in the city, close to a bus stop, and close enough, in my opinion, to walk to the 2nd and spring garden stop for the subway. Another pro is that it is free street parking outside of the gate and I always find a spot. Cons: It is not a terribly safe area, however, I have PERSONALLY not had issues. I don't necessarily feel safe though. We have had many problems with shootings and robberies. I feel like there is a different shooting very close by at LEAST monthly. There is a lot of litter around the area as well, not so much inside the gate though. It is a pretty dirty area though also. The hallways are always dirty and the basements with the shared laundry and storage are disgusting. You have to pay for the shared laundry. And the maintenance is terrible. Super hard to get in touch with. They will say they will do things and then don't. The buildings are old and the heat never works properly. In general, I have had an ok experience living here, but I would only recommend with hesitations.

Recently added communal charcoal grills and picnic tables. Shared laundry in each building for $4.50 per load. I constantly have mice in my apartment regardless of how clean I keep it. The car gate has been broken for months which makes the courtyard rather unsafe. I lived here for 3 years and it was OK in the beginning but the management company has been horrible this past year.

I lived here for 7 years, and I'm so glad I was finally able to move. I'm not some angry tenant who doesn't want to pay rent. I just want to make sure people don't make the same mistakes I did. I would not ever recommend living here. The neighborhood is dangerous, and I did not feel safe walking at night due to the close proximity to the housing projects. There were several shootings in my time there. Most of these condos are rentals and managed by Watchtower Property company, formerly Residential Life, formerly Ironstone, etc with transient property managers. They are a pain to deal with, and will go years without fixing issues, and then charge you for them in the end. Maintenance is 1 person for over 130 units. Do yourself a favor and find a better place to live.
