He can to to family court and fill out an application to appear before judge and fight for full custody or have the right to have equal say on his daughter. If he's fighting for full custody he will need to show why she is an unfit parent. He will need to know where she is staying so they she can get the court's notice to appear. When I filed because I forgot to put the apartment number it appeared in the system as undelivered and therefore he wasn't properly served. The judge dropped the case. It was very frustrating. I wish your son luck in this process.

Going to court and filing a request for custody. You will need to prove your able to care and provide for your child. Have a stable home and school for yoyr child. I would also talk to friends and family and see if anyone has gone through a similar situation so you can get an idea. You can always talk to a lawyer as well. Good luck
