I've done a couple transfers and purchased a handgun at the old downtown location. Store was really nice, staff friendly and helpful, prices are on the higher end which is what you'd expect when you see such a nice looking place. New location is nothing but a pain since you have to wait outside, "for safety". My time is too valuable to spend standing around outside, I'll just go elsewhere now. If the experience ever returns to normal, I'll return.

A little late, but I thought I'd share my experience buying from Sporting Systems last month. I decided to buy something a little different before the magazine ban took effect etc. I picked it up after it cleared background / waiting period and forgot to check that the spare magazine I purchased was inside of the box. That's 100% my fault. I got home and realized that it was not in the box and sent a quick email asking about it. I was fully prepared to be told that I was out of luck. Nope. I got a phone call the next day telling me that I could pick up the spare mag any time. I appreciate that kind of service. I have dealt with enough dealers to know that that's not the normal outcome. I'll be a buyer here again.

Friendly knowledgeable staff who continue to raise the bar for excellent customer service regardless of industry. You are doing a yourself a disservice if you are in the area and don’t stop in and see their vast array of anything that may tickle your fancy. 10/10.

Staff here is very friendly and knowledgeable. When looking to change my EDC, they showed me their preferences, and several other models they thought would be a good fit for me. Process to check out was easy and pleasant. So why 2 stars then.. 1) Their website. Does not give any indication of what name brands they carry, or what's in stock. 2) They never answer their phone. I wouldn't mind the website, but with them never answering their phone, it forces a person to go in. 3) going in a person is a chore due to having to wait outside, I'm guessing due to capacity? (which makes no sense as I watched 3 people exit today, and only the guy in front of me was allowed in...the reasoning, of the people who exited, 2 of them were minors...)? As I do not live in the immediate area, I've burned a lunch hour on several occasions just waiting on attempting to get in (and being I work their hours of operation, after work isn't an option). If you have the time to wait, sure stop in. If you are in the Ridgefield area or farther north, better off going to Gators in Kelso as you will be back home with your items before even getting in the door at Sporting Systems.

Limited occupancy, mandatory hand washing upon entry, social distancing in store and outside in the queue, masks, single use items where possible, routine cleaning of all common areas after each use, eliminated all classes, restrict entry to shoppers only and not tag alongs, limited hours, routine testing for all staff, limiting store visits for things that can be done remotely.

I'm new to hand guns in Washington but I may be buying a .38 from a friend and I need to get used to it and would like a concealed carry license. I'm a disabled vet in a wheelchair, what do I need to do?

Skip Garner | Aug 18, 2019
Sporting Systems | Aug 18, 2019

WA permit, go to the sheriffs office in downtown Vancouver. Walk is fine, no appointment required. No classes required at this time. $57.50, they take your pic and fingerprints, takes about 20-30 minutes tops unless they're busy. Permit will be to you in about 30 days. We can facilitate the private party transfer here, just need both parties here at the same time. For carry outside WA, Oregon requires their permit, they do not honor any other states. You will need a class for that. We offer a multi state class here ion store that covers Oregon, Utah, Fl and AZ. That's provides you with about 37 states of legal concealed carry. Utah is a good one to pick up, covers the most states. If we can help more, please call the shop at 360-977-3808. Thank you for your service. May 8th at 830 AM we host a Patriots Hour, a social time for Vets to meet other vets, coffee, donuts, social time with people who have walked in your shoes. We do that once a month.
