A must do to fully experience what the Columbia River Gorge has to offer! I went all the way to Twister Fall, right after Tunnel Falls. On the way back I counted 30+ waterfalls! This was during spring season, I highly recommend.

Beautiful hike! We did a 4 mile hike but you can extended it and continue on a different trail. The landscape has changed after the fire a couple of years ago. Still very nice!

Had a nice hike up the Eagle Creek Trail on Wednesday, December 1 up to Tunnel Falls. I arrived a little later than expected and got to the trail head about 11:45 AM only to find they were only three parking spaces left. It has been many years since I hiked the Eagle Creek Trail up to Tunnel Falls the last time being was the summer of 1983 when I was 16 years old. An amazing hike although the trail can be rocky at certain points and very narrow. But the views of the all of the Falls from Punchbowl Falls up to Tunnel Falls were amazing. Plus some really cool bridges to cross over as well. The trail itself didn’t appear to be too crowded, however there are occasional people who run up and down the trail so do be aware of that. I recommend anyone who has a chance to do any hiking on any trails in Oregon and who have a love of scenery and waterfalls to definitely hike this trail

This is a fairly easy hike with a 1,000’ elevation gain over 5 miles. The trail is rocky so wear good stable hiking shoes. Watch for trail runners too. Some good views of Lower Punch Bowl and Punch Bowl Falls. Hike from Lower Punch Bowl to Punch Bowl for a beautiful view. The burn has opened the forest so on sunny days the like can get hot. There is still so much beauty even with the fire but it is not the same as before the fire. Some good views to get at Tunnel Falls if you make it the 6 miles out. Trail is well maintained and there are some cool bridges over the river.

Is Eagle Creek trail open yet? Hiking to the fall's?
Yes
6.2 miles to tunnel falls and about 1000 feet of climbing? That's not terribly noticeable (steep) due to the distance. Muddy when wet. Be prepared. Also there is a creek to cross about 1.5 miles or less before Tunnel Falls. I was able to get over a log pile here but it depends on how much water is moving from rain run off. People have mentioned crossing to the left of small logs and is shin to knee deep during heavy flow. Trail has hazards, down trees and some mud slides to climb over as well. Good luck, enjoy
Yes, but it's not recommended. Swim at your own risk. Better off finding other places to cool off that are less dangerous and less sensitive habitats.
I was there all day didn't see any broken glass when I started or ended the day. The lot was packed so there were plenty of targets. It's always a risk.
