Adopted a wonderful new family member ("Lottie" but changed her name to Aria) and it was easy from start to finish. The people here obviously care for these discarded dogs and our family is richer for it. If you're looking for a new friend and aren't picky about pedigree I recommend starting here.

We got to spend a little over an hour with this little girl, and then she came to her forever home a few days later. The staff are very thorough in the selection process. They are friendly, and accommodating.

They were very nice about taking in a dog we found on the highway even though we found him in another county (the shelters in that county were closed at the time so we drove to the nearest open one - now we know to call the non-emergency line for help next time!)

We adopted this sweet girl Bijou! The staff and volunteers we're very helpful and made sure we understood all of the paperwork and technical stuff and scheduled her a vet appointment and everything!

Yes there's a listening. Clatsop county animal shelter. Not sure about costs, but they include fixing, chipping, and one or two vet visits I believe.

Very rarely an animal is put down. It is for extreme aggression that makes the dog unsafe to adopt or for mercy when an animal is sick or in pain and there is no effective remedy. The shelter does not kill for space as many other shelters do.

They will take anything they can get. My Aunt works there.

No they won't you have to catch it yourself and take it to them. They no longer work with Astoria.
